Alain Hajjar, D.Psy.
Doctoral degree in psychology (ongoing)
Bachelor’s degree in psychology
Alain obtained his Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. He completed his first internship at the Clinique des Services Psychologiques de l’UQO, then his second at the Montfort Hospital in Health Psychology. He is now an intern at IMAVI for his final internship. Alain uses an integrative approach based on a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and emotion-focused therapy to adapt his interventions to the individual needs of his clients. His work experiences include individual and group psychotherapy for a variety of issues, including anxiety disorders; eating disorders, adaptation to and acceptance of chronic disease; relationship difficulties, mood disorders; mourning and sexual assault and its impact on the victim's family.
Due to his involvement, since 2013, in Dr. Stephane Bouchard’s team in the Laboratoire de Cyberpsychologie de l’UQO, Alain has developed a particular interest in the treatment of various anxiety disorders, particularly through the use of technology. He is also a member of Dr. Michel Dugas' team at the Laboratoire des troubles d’anxiété since 2016, from which he draws his expertise in the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
