Andrea’s interest in coping in the face of adversity, specifically in the context of illness, led her to pursue her education in psychology. Throughout her academic career, she has focused her efforts on researching health psychology topics, providing psychotherapy within her internship settings, as well as teaching as a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa. As part of her current doctoral training, Andrea has completed clinical internships with the UQO Psychological Services Clinic, the Montfort Hospital’s Health Psychology Services as well as the federal government.
Providing evidence-based care is particularly important to Andrea. Using an integrative therapeutic approach, she has been trained in both cognitive-behavioural and experiential-humanistic approaches. Andrea provides treatment for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and adjustment difficulties with life transitions and illness in both French and English.
